Why do Fasteners Slip?

As a Railway Fastening System Supplier, share with you.

For the fastening requirements of fasteners, one of the most important points is that the teeth cannot be slipped, but the slipping of fasteners is a common problem. Today, China Standard Parts Network gives a detailed introduction to this problem and lists examples. Common phenomenon of bolt sliding teeth and solutions.

Why do fasteners slip?

Screw slippage may be caused by the material of the screw itself. When the screw material is not good, a lot of impurities and impurities will be produced. It may also be due to the fact that the customer's product itself is relatively hard (such as iron plate), and the reason must be found before the corresponding solution can be solved to prevent the self-tapping screw from slipping in the use of the product. Screw slippage is usually due to the following six reasons:

1. The length of the screw is not enough to bear the corresponding torque.

2. Quality reasons such as insufficient strength and hardness of the screw, and material technology.

3. The force of screwing the screw exceeds the standard load of the screw, causing slippage.

4. The threaded holes or threaded threads are not standard, and the mutual connection is not tight enough.

5. The screw itself is not limited, and it will also cause the consequences of slippage.

6. The tooth outer diameter is too small. If the normal machine uses normal threads, the tooth outer diameter is too small and the teeth will be slippery.

Note: There is a small problem here, that is, many manufacturers usually harden the screws in order to prevent the screws from slipping. However, some screws still have this kind of slipping problem after hardening. This is mainly because some manufacturers have not controlled the hardness of the screw when hardening the screw. The hardness index of the hardened screw should be 480HV~550 . Therefore, when hardening screws, the hardness should be reasonably controlled within this range.

There are several common problems that cause bolt slippage:

1. Excessive tightening force leads to deformation of the thread of the screw hole, resulting in slippage.

2. The bolt is skewed when screwed in, causing mechanical damage to the aluminum thread.

3. Using a pneumatic wrench, fast disassembly and assembly will damage the threads.
